​At this time, you must come to the library to apply for a library card. 

What do I need to apply?
To apply for a library card, you will need to bring in the following: 
  • Valid Texas ID showing your current Newark or Wise County address
  • Piece of mail showing your current Newark or Wise County address if your ID is not up to date

OK! I have all that, where do I go?
Come to the Newark Public Library during business hours and visit our circulation desk. There, ask to apply for a library card. We will provide you with an application and verify your Texas ID and/or Piece of Mail. 

How much does it really cost?
Library cards for residents of the City of Newark or Wise County are 100% free. However, if you lose or misplace your card, it is a $1.00 replacement fee. 

I have a library card, now what?
Now you have access to our catalog which boasts over 7,000 items, including DVDs, Blu-rays,   Fiction and Non-fiction adult books, Children's Books, as well as Non-Fiction (cookbooks, current events, etc.) and Manga/Graphic Novels.
